From our very own, Nikole Sideropoulos:

I have done A LOT of travelling this year. 10 countries in the last 8 months!

When planning my trips, I like to stay super organized. I’m a major proponent of making lists and budgets in Excel to make sure I am keeping track of everything. But then as soon as you start booking things, you end up with dozens of emails for your flights, hotels, trains, reservations, etc. What a mess.

One app that has saved my life and made me feel super safe when traveling internationally is TripIt. All I had to do was download the app and link my email, and it automatically pulled in all my travel emails and created a master itinerary for each of my trips. I love it because I can access all my plans easily, even when I don’t have cell service, which is great when traveling abroad. You can also create a password-protected profile page to which I saved all my personal info and travel documents like my passport information. So, now whenever I’m booking a new flight, I can find all my travel info in one place.

On my most recent trip to Germany, TripIt alerted me when to check-in for my flight, and when I clicked into the app, it had all my flight info with direct links to check-in online. It had even already copied my confirmation number for me, so I could easily paste it into the airline site to check-in. Then, when I landed in Berlin, I opened the app to find my hotel info there with an estimated travel time and transportation suggestions. Can it get any easier than that?! My friend traveling with me had printed all of her travel confirmation emails, so I showed her the app and clued her into the fact that she doesn’t need to carry around all those papers around anymore.

TL;DR: Be like Nikole and travel more. And use TripIt.
