What Real People Actually Recommend to Other Real People: Scott’s Cheap Flights

The next edition in our series on real recommendations from real people. And if you think the airline industry needs as much work as we do, you might relish this opportunity to take advantage of its blind spots.

From our very own, Charlie Brooks:

This is a little odd, but the thing that I recommend most often to other people is an email newsletter.

Every morning I scan my inbox for anything from Scott’s Cheap Flights. The emails are short and sweet. They basically only consist of an exciting location, departure options, and a price. Every email offers the opportunity for international travel at a fraction of its typical cost. A quick scan of my inbox shows “Flights to Italy or Malta for $400 roundtrip,” “Flights to Shanghai for $400/$500 roundtrip,” and most recently, “Flights to Paris for $399 to $564 roundtrip, incl. Thanksgiving.”

Scott’s Cheap Flights is the ultimate tool for the impulsive adventurer. Every few days I’m reminded by an email of all the fun opportunities to be had around the world. It takes away all the headaches of spending hours on various airfare websites and makes you feel like a genius who just played the air travel industry.

And that is how I will be spending Thanksgiving from Paris this year!
