From our very own, Marissa Brown:

Bread is not an inherently exciting category. In fact, it’s so routine that when you think of a stereotypical grocery list, it usually includes milk, eggs, and bread. I wasn’t that excited about my bread either until I stumbled on Dave’s Killer Bread, and now I can’t imagine eating anything else.

Why this bread? Let me first take a step back so you can understand the importance of bread in my day-to-day routine. I’m not a morning person, and I have a relatively long commute to the office. Hence I eat my breakfast on the road, and my breakfast of choice is peanut butter toast (or I guess, more specifically, a toasted peanut butter sandwich since un-sandwiched toast would be difficult to eat while driving). I eat this same meal every weekday, so it’s important that the bread and peanut butter are good. I could spend a whole other blog post talking about my love of peanut butter and my quest to find the perfect one, but let’s focus on the bread—Dave’s Killer Bread.

This bread checks all the boxes for me and then some. Nutritionally it’s awesome—high in protein, fiber, and omega-3s. It also tastes great. It has whole grains and seeds baked in the bread and on the crust that give it this really great hearty texture and a subtle nutty-sweet flavor. And while I’m not super picky about buying organic and non-GMO, this bread is both of those, and I think that’s pretty cool, too. All that alone was enough to sell me on it, but once I learned more about the company, I was all-in. The co-founder (the Dave in Dave’s Killer Bread) spent some time in prison, and the company is all about providing second chances and hiring people with criminal backgrounds.

A bread that’s good, good for me, and good for the community? Killer.
